Information regarding McClellan US Cavalry Saddles

Perhaps a list member has some experience and knowledge of these saddles. My
understanding is that the US Cavalry used a modified version of this saddle,
developed in 1928, throughout the final years of the cavalry, in the mid 1940's.
I am curious how they were adjusted to fit the horse and the rider. Also, if
someone has ridden in these saddles, how do they compare with modern endurance
saddles?
