Does anyone know of a good tick repellant for horses? My two horses are
still suffering from ticks in the dead of winter despite numerous freezes here

Here in NC, we also suffer from ticks, I've found several just this past week.
I don't worry too much about a few, but in the summer, I use SWAT ointment on
the undersides, where there is not too much hair. It is available in pink and
clear, it stays on in the hot, sweaty months very well. I do have to re-apply
about once every 7-10 days for very good control. During the summer, and
unprotected horse can get around 50-60 ticks at any one time just in the groin
area. SWAT does very well on these areas.
