Our daughter and son-in-law have ridden warmbloods in endurance for a number
of years. Butch rode a 17 hand, unconditioned Trakehner in a 30 mile LD ride
several years ago and finished in 7th place. They now own a 1/2 Dutch
Warmblood, 16.1 hands, that has done several R&T races, one of which was a
100 mile R&T (he placed first)! My husband used to ride a 16 hand
Morgan/Percheron cross that consistently top tenned 50 mile endurance rides
and placed 4th in Tevis at the age of 12. Who says BIG horses can't do
endurance?
