sarcoids
My gelding had a sarcoid appear on his side the spring of 1998. It
had no doubt appeared during the winter and was hidden by his winter
coat.
I'm not sure how to word this appropriately, but I believe sarcoids
are both of a cancerous and viral nature.
We waited until winter, when the flies were gone, and my vet did
cryosurgery on it three times, a month apart. He said he has had a
good success rate with this method of treatment.
So far so good. I have been told by other vets that once horses
develop sarcoids, they are likely to develop more of them in the
future.
