Horses with weak hocks have hocks that will turn in when weight is fully on
the leg (it's also called cowhocked, the leg will rotate inward which makes
the foot slide). The trailer acts similar to a brake...it digs in and
stops the foot from rotating thus stabilizing the hock. (Nelson's
explanation with my interpretation.... sans hand gestures and sign
language!). :) Hope this helps!
