About the first time someone sues at a ride, the whole sport of endurance
riding will go down the drain. Can you imagine any ride manager sticking his
or her neck out to put on a ride if law suits start cropping up? I know I
wouldn't! Granted it sounds llike there were a few thoughtless, careless, or
irresponsible things going on at the Montana ride, but bringing law suits
into the picture is not smart. Insurance is expensive enough without having
it go up due to a law suit. Also, I would imagine that no entitiy such as a
park (state, local, or federal) would allow rides to take place there ever
again; they're so fearful of law suits as it is. We all know this is a
dangerous sport; we've all accepted this as part of the sport and part of
being around horses. I don't recommend filing a lawsuit as a means for
getting even. Come on folks ... THINK about this.
