A few years ago at an Arab show (smaller, not one of the real big ones)
there was a rider in the warm up arena on a stallion that was leaving cuts
on the horse from spurs.  I looked up the right person at the show to
complain to (i forget her title but did happen to know her personally also,
and things of this nature were her job).  She came and talked to me, I told
her I was willing to sign a formal complaint if necessary.  A follow up to
your story would have been to contact IAHA or the AHSA and let them know
what went on, how the show committee reacted (or 'didn't' react in your
case) and be willing to sign a letter of complaint against David.

Makes one want to carry a camera around show grounds to get photographic
proof, heh?
