White hairs on a chestnut
Hi, all --
I had three chestnut colts from a white mare and two different chestnut
stallions (all Arabs); one colt turned roan, and his full brother is
chestnut with a scattering of a few white hairs through the coat. The
third has the same scattering of white hairs, plus a palm-sized lighter
colored patch on each side where the saddle flaps would be, white spots
down the top line at his withers, and white spots down the spine over
the rump, like Bob Morris's horse. These all before ever having a
saddle on him - he was born that way. Go figure.
