Acorns can be harmful to some horses.
They can cause founder in some, especially if the horse is prone to
founder.
They can cause some to get hives all over their body.
And some horses will colic on them.
It's the tannic acid in them.
Hope this helps you. I have 1 horse that can't tolerate them at all.
I have to hot wire his pen off the Oak Trees when the acorns start
falling and the fresh leaves can cause some horses the same trouble.
