I've always heard that chlorine bleach removes mildew and the smell, but I'd
be afraid that it would also remove the color from the fabric or even damage
the fabric. I guess it depends on what sort of fabric and how bleach
resistant it is. If the blanket is unusable as is, it might be worth a try.
