Hurricane Floyd report
Wednesday, Sept 15, 2 pm EDT
I live about 15 miles west of Cape/Port Canaveral. I am in the
northwest corner of the intersection of I-95 and State Hwy 528.
At my house there was no damage, not even any limbs down.
A couple neighbors have limbs down, and one person had a
section of their privacy fence blow over. One eight foot section
out of a 300 foot fence. A little strange.
My son walked around the block earlier today and said that all
he saw down was palm fronds and oak twigs and leaves.
I went to bed at 3 am and was back up at 7 am. We received very
little rain, we get more from the afternoon thunder storms. The winds
were nice and active, would have been great kite flying, except that
I'm near power lines.
The gusts that came when I was outside were a little pushy, but no
blow you over ones.
I know of about 15 other Floridians that are subscribed to RideCamp.
I hope everyone came through Floyd as well as my neighbors and I did.
And hope those yet to meet Floyd, have as nice a meeting as I did.
