A Grade II lameness is one that is just becoming observable with consistency.
A Grade I is one that you cannot observe consistently. So I guess it all
depends on your definition of "pretty lame". That's the veterinary
definition of Grade II, and it fits in with the AERC guidelines of a horse
not being fit to continue if a lameness is consistent.
