Yearlings
Since I've never had a horse this young, I thought I'd ask some opinions
from those of you with experience with younger horses. I just purchased a
yearling 5/8 arabian stud colt this weekend. He's about 14 hands right now,
good weight, not heavy. My question is feeding. How are his feeding
requirements different than those of an adult horse. I feed a good quality
timothy/grass mix hay along with beet pulp and plain rolled oats to my
current horses ranging in age from four to nine. I also feed a supplement
of NW Horse Supplement formulated for grass hay and a selenium supplement.
