Re: RC: First Arabian Horse!
Joane,
Like you, I sat back just sure someone was going to relate that perhaps
acquiring a "proven" endurance horse was in order rather than acquiring a two
year old(which I am sure is just beautiful).
Again, it is all about what the rider wants to experience in this sport.
If you want the satisfaction of "raising" a horse with whom to share
future trail experiences, then a two year old may be the way to go.
If you want to show up and ride on a horse you have conditioned and have
some reasonable assurance that that horse can go down the trails, meeting
criteria with a willing, working attitude, perhaps a bit more experienced
horse, say an eight to nine year old would be the way to go.
If you want to just show up and ride the trails on a proven endurance
horse, they're out there for sale.
As far as price, I know the least expensive way to go would be avenues two
and three...the first, for many reasons, will cost you more MONETARILY and
EMOTIONALLY.
Good Luck, Mr. Phillips.
Frank Solano.
