First Ride

Hi 
Abra and I went our first endurance ride on Saturday and just got home 
tonight.   He is fine and I hurt in places I never even knew that I had 
before :)
I only have one word I can think of to describe it....WONDERFUL.
The thing that stands out the most in my befuddled tired brain is the PEOPLE. 
 They were, each and every one of them so nice to me and my daughter-in-law 
crew (neither of which had ever even been to one before.
I rode the Pacific Crest 30 put on by the Rogue Riders and it was beautiful.  
The trails were so well marked that you would have had to go blind to not 
find your way, the food provided was great, the view on our trails were 
breath taking.  I actually slowed down sometimes just to admire it..(me, need 
a break?...LOL)  The pulse takers and vets were so helpful and nice before 
and after the ride and especially at our Vet Check, where one of the ladies 
went out of her way to find us some tape to repair my bridle that gave way 
about a mile out.  Fortunately I had a halter on and snaps on my reins so I 
just snapped a rein onto the halter and kept on truckin.  Was talking to my 
D-I-L on walkie-talkie at the time and she said all I sounded was surprised 
that my bit was up on Abra's neck.  I would also like to thank the great 
gentleman that picked up the coat I dropped and proceeded to go ahead and win 
the 50 miler!!!!!!
Our camp neighbors were about the nicest group of ladies that you could ever 
imagine meeting and their lovely greys were a delight to see first thing in 
the mornings.
I apologize to all of you for not remembering names but I sure thank the ride 
management, the workers, the Vets and all the people I met for a wonderful 
first ride.  I would also like to thank Betty Edgar for all the help and 
information she gave me and especially my family for their support and help.
We completed with great Vet Checks!!!!!!!!!!
