Actually, I came to realize over the years that a good farrier is critical.
One saved my horse Suni from having his hooves removed for a white line
disease he never had (procedure suggested by a young, ambitious vet).
I have a question--should you worry about a slightly club foot? My only
"personal" experience with club feet was watching an extremely painful
effort on the part of one rider to make an expensive halter horse with a
club foot into an endurance horse--never worked, everyone suffered. But I
don't know the degree of the problem this horse had. Just that he had been
successful in the show ring.
