Re: RC: Re: If you can't afford it (money going out)
I also thought that comment was misplaced. If you are looking at jewelry,
autos and other material things, then the comment comes into play. However,
when you are looking at an animal that you love and a sport that you would
really like to get involved with, the money becomes immaterial.
If we all took a good look at exactly what it cost us just to keep the horse,
nothing above and beyond that, then we would all probably have a coronary at
the expense. Nobody ever said that this was a cheap venture. But is it
worth it?? You BET.
But look at what we get out of it: an animal that it part of our life and
doesn't live in the house, the ability to get outside and enjoy nature,
exercise, the thrill of competition, the personal goals and the pure
enjoyment of riding.
Things you don't get: sitting inside watching TV, wondering what to do with
your extra time, hanging out and doing nothing and a life of boredom.
How many of you have went out after a really bad day at work and talked to
your horse? Isn't he a wonderful listener, he knows just what you are saying
and he makes you feel better.
Don't count the money, count the experiences you have with your friend and
enjoy every one of them.

carrots!!!)
