RC: Electric trailer winch

Amber has seen my trailer, so she will know what I am talking about, it is
Very Large (30ft) + Very Old  = Very Heavy.  It originally had a geared
hand crank on it, and the teeth eventually broke off the gears and it
locked up.  After checking around, I went to my Dad (the Ultimate Fixit). 
He bought a hydraulic ram jack (aprox $29) and welded it on where the gear
box had been. Wish I had it done years ago!!   I'll be happy to provide
details if anyone is interested.
