Re: Steam rising from hot horses/Hot/humid weather.



Not having access to water to cool my mare when we ride in the desert
(unless from a water bottle that I always carry), watching her drying time
is my way of checking if she's ok as well.  I've had problems of tying up
before and the feed here is low in selenium....she gets a supplement...so
excess wetness is always a hint of trouble. She should dry quickly at a trot
(like within 5 minutes) or we have a difficulty. We have extreme heat,
though not usually humidity.  Our humid days have nothing on the SE.
