You people are taking this way too seriously.  I didn't make the remark (I'm 
the one who remarked that horses are cheaper than therapy) but I took the 
statement as I'm sure it was meant.  Tongue-in-cheek.  Jeeze people.

 I also thought that remark ("If  you have to ask, then you can't afford it")
 was a little crass.   I am always concerned about how much "things" cost
 because I value my hard-earned dollars.  I make a good living and can well
 afford this "sport", but I will continue to "ask" before spending because it
 is the wise thing to do.
 
 Don't let comments like this deter you from endurance, as there are many
 wonderful people in this sport.  There are also many helpful people on this
 list that are willing to share their knowledge.   You know what they
 say....... there is always one in every crowd.  Just overlook it and keep
 right on "asking".
