Depends entirely on the individuals.  If you linebreed good individuals from 
good lines, you have good odds of getting good offspring.  Likewise if you 
outcross good individuals from good lines--usually good results.  By the same 
token, if you linebreed poor individuals with more poor individuals behind 
them, you tend to get muck--and likewise if you outcross in a similar 
fashion.  Of course, the options usually lie somewhere in between those two 
extremes, so you have to weigh each potential breeding for merit or lack of 
merit and go from there.
