Thanks to my husband's military career I had the opportunity to ride in Germany for a year at a very nice, low-key stable. One of the school horses was a Haflinger/Arab cross. She was really pretty, a palomino with a gorgeous head, very short (13.2 or so) but sturdy. I only rode her once (I'm 5'7" and heavyweight) and although I felt like my feet were dragging she didn't have any trouble carrying me. She could go and go and go, she even went fox hunting with the big horses. Sweet personality too, although a little on the hot side. I thought it was a nice cross.
