It sure is if you play the "famous names" game instead of knowing the horses 
back there and understanding what they do or don't have to offer to what you 
are trying to do.  As Michael Bowling so aptly put it:  A pedigree is not a 
definition--it is a set of possibilities.  If you are surprised by what you 
get, then you didn't truly know what was back there.  But the bottom line 
is--the horse is still a product of his ancestors.
