RE: RC: Muscat -Reply
In reply, amen to what Linda said. There are too many horses left breeding stallions simply because of their parentage, not because of their own confirmation and athletic ability. The Polish had it right, horses earned their papers at the track, not every horse was registered, therefor not deteriorating the strain with sub-standard breeding stock.
Signed.

I'm going to jump in and ask the question; out of simple curiosity (NOT trolling), but to better understand. I am somewhat interested in pedigrees, just because so many of my horse have the same lines.....they share
Witez II, Bask, Raffon, Gdansk, etc.I am a total newbee at this Arab pedigree stuff, but hope it is relevent, since so many endurance horses are touted as having great lines......I try not to take it seriously, but it is fun
My understanding is that the Polish Arabs are the result of years of culling; and racing achievement,i.e, even though Bask was a champion park horse; he also won races in poland.
What are the attributes of the Crabbet lines that would produce great endurance horses? A local breeder told me that the Crabbet horses were mainly show horses......Skoroneck (sp.) was Polish, but I don't understand the interest in son Raffles; who was only 13.3 hands.....
Why do so many folks like the Egyptian lines? Many Egyptian studs are popular right now.....
Did the Crabbet line breeders and Egyptian breeders put an emphasis on performance?
What about Kellogg? Mainly Crabbet lines?
Any comments, facts or just plain opinions appreciated!
I would hazard a guess that with ANY strong dam or stallion lines (i.e. popular), you can produce a dozen successful endurance horses to support that line!
