Heart Monitors
Hi, Gang - my 2 cents worth. I ride with a monitor when conditioning
and during a ride. At vet checks, I do a hand check as well as the
monitor while waiting to P&R. As soon as my horse meets criteria, I
P&R. Time after time, the P&R person will come up with a lower score
than I have gotten with both hand and monitor, ex. 54 instead of 60.
Friends I have ridden with have had the same experience. My conclusion,
since I use both hand and monitor checks to be sure I meet criteria, is
that many P&R persons can't or don't bother to be accurate. I have
never had one get a higher # than the monitor.

bone. Anyone hear of that before?)
