BUTANO AIRSTRIP VC 2 - 47 miles

Diana Killeen reports that 4 horses were pulled as of 1:20 pm. The forth horse
was reported as number “13A”. Kathy Webster is #13, and I don’t have a “13A”
on my list, so this is probably Kathy.

Diana has worked Swanton for 10 or 11 years, and says that it’s cooler than
usual at that VC, about 75 degrees. It’s is just above the fog… 


CUTTER WATER STOP - 52 miles

Lud reports that the temperature at Cutter water stop is actually just 90
degrees. The following horses have passed the cutter water stop in
approximately the order given below.

Lud says it’s fast a fast ride this year.

Lud can see Cascade Ranch, the next vet check at 69 miles. This is a great
stop to crew! It’s a one-hour hold at a beautiful historic ranch that is on
the coastline… According to Lud it’s foggy there now, which equates to cool
(70-75 degrees) and there is a strong breeze.


OLD WOMAN'S CROSSING - 62 miles

Mike Maul says the front runners went through Old Woman’s Crossing, the
62 mile point, in a group at 1:30. This is 7 miles to Cascade Ranch.

The temperature there is about 80-85 degrees and it’s clear and bright.
