Actually, it would. There is a fatal flaw in that system. You can
have the greatest horse in the world, and if the ride you go to has 20
entries, you can finish in first place and 80 of the horses in a ride
with 100 entries get more points than you do. That system favors the
large rides so much that no one who doesn't have large rides within
driving distance has any chance at all.
It was my experience that although it's clearly easier to Top Ten in a
ride with 10 entries than in a ride with 50, it isn't significantly
easier to finish First Place. You've got to beat the horse than
finishes second no matter how many more there are behind you.
