Fencing: Pros and cons

What type of fencing do you ridecampers prefer?  I currently have 4 board oak fencing which has served us pretty well for 11 yrs.  Have had to replace some rotten boards.  What experience have you guys had with the white plastic fence, with hi-tensile type fencing?
