Where are you located? In the NE, I'd be hard pressed to get 1000 miles. Lack of miles would probably be do to lack of opportunity rather than a horse who could not endure. Remember that here in the East, endurance riding/racing is preceded & followed by endurance DRIVING!

sorry but 400 gets to the only needing a horse to be sound for 4 or five
rides not true endurance if you want it bad enough 1000 is doable
