Sylvia: In my experience, nothing out there equates to the excitement of
doing the Tevis. I think people are differently suited to the various
distances and events. I'll do a 100, and think that's the best thing on
earth. Then I go do a multiday, and nope, the multiday is the
best! <g> Plus, some horses are more suited to one than the other and
therefore to the rider it might 'seem' like one particular ride is
easier. I've been having a ball this year riding my horse Rocky on nearly
all of the rides I rode Weaver on last year, and it's kinda fun being able
to see their differences and at what each one is strongest at, etc.
I once asked Trilby about doing the Tevis. She said it is her favorite
100, and the only 100 she'll do. Funny how she seems to get thru any
multiday without trouble, but goes over time at Tevis.
