Electrolyte Use
Tammy Robinson: "Sorry someone has gotten this into saying that I said Not
to give
electroytes! I never said that, THANK YOU!"
Tammy you did state: "You should never give electrolytes unless their has
been enough water consumed before hand. By giving electrolytes before &
not knowing if your
horse will drink is dangerous, and this would only make things worse."
What I was trying to say, (and perhaps not very well) is that during a ride
when there is high heat and humidity, NOT giving electrolytes is not wise,
even though the horse may not be drinking as well as you liked or at all.
In most cases you will stimulate drinking by giving a judicious amount of
electrolytes.
"AND I don't only ride in the Western part of the States. Who said I did
that?
I have been riding for 23 years in endurance. I think I know about
electroytes."

Rider of the Really Awesome "Katie Bar The Door"
Wow, I never meant to insinuate that you were a novice to the sport. Just
wanted to pass on what I have learned about the use of electrolytes and
their application in hot and humid climates. The one thing I have learned
from my years in this sport is that
I always have MORE to learn!
