I (after trying a western type saddle, a dressage saddle and McClellan-type
endurance saddle...all of which sucked) recently purchased a saddle from
Whitman Saddlery. It is the Campbell Paragon and is an all purpose type
tree but with features added for distance riding. I am bowled over by the
excellent construction of the saddle. I love the wide panels (better weight
distribution), extra dees on the cantle, recessed stirrup bars (so the
buckle doesn't gouge into your leg), and padded knee rolls. The reps at
Whitman were happy to work with me on fit. I sent them wither tracings and
measurements, and also included my height, weight, inseam length, etc. The
saddle fits my horse like it was made for her, and it is extremely
comfortable for me as well. No more struggling to maintain position! I
don't have any experience with Orthoflex, so can't comment, but can
uneqivocally recommend the Campbell Paragon!
