Re: squeaky shoes??

Just the other day I was helping feed the pasture board
horses at my boarding stable and as one horse walked up I
could hear the weirdest "squeak squeak squeak".  I finally
figured out it must be his shoes, but I haven't a clue why
it would do that.  I'm anxious to hear some ideas.

p.s. we're in northern Virginia where it's hot and dry, dry,
dry, and has been all summer.
