I was thinking they had a rule where if the pulsetaker said they were
over a vet had to come take it.....I thought, O.K. if that's so and
something the horse saw made it jump, by the time the vet gets there it
should be back to normal. >>
That's the normal protocol at FEI rides--if a pulsetaker gets a high reading,
they call for a member of the veterinary commission, and then if the pulse is
still high, the penalty is assessed. At least that is how it has worked in
the past.
