Foaming on Easyboots -- for newbies
Well, finally did it today. It was messy, and toward the end of doing the
second boot, my gelding became a bit impatient. But then, so was I.
What I learned:
1) Don't use so much, and then it won't be so messy
2) Remember to wear disposable exam gloves so I won't have to peel crud
off my hands
3) Don't refrigerate the two components (I did, out of fear that I'd need
the extra time, but I did not need the time and it took forever for the
foam to be generated, and then to gel)
4) Slather KY jelly all over the coronary band after wrapping, and then I
won't have to obsess over cleaning excess foam as it sloooowly oozes up (of
course, next time there should be less excess, and the oozing should be
over with a bit faster)
5) Have lots of baby wipes available, though I hope I'll never use so many
again
Again, thanks to Karen Chaton for her wonderful how-to info.
