If endurance breeders want to be able to appeal to a market, that market
needs to be developed. Very few of my many endurance friends ride horses
specifically bred for endurance...
Middle of the pack and "finish is to win" folks will settle for the
horse that steals our heart while not emptying our pockets. The very
savvy top notch folks can often pick a good horse out without spending
much money or hesitating because of bloodlines.
Breeders targeting endurance need to look to the future and attract more
of the type of customers that will pay more for good endurance
bloodlines. There are many horse folks that will pay a premium for the
right "label". Right now, not too many of them ride endurance
<heh!heh!heh!> I kinda like it that way <grin!!> but I definitely
respect an endurance breeders desire to live a life surrounded by these
fine animals...
