Re: WHERE WILL ENDURANCE HORSES COME FROM...
Sometimes Heidi, people don't realize they are looking at diamonds in the
rough. They need to look beyond the thin ribs and unkempt manes and tails.
They really do need to look into the horses eyes and see what they are trying
to tell you. The eyes are the most expressive part of the horse. What else
in the horse can convey such feeling and emotion. We have all experienced it
with our own horses.
Please take a good look at the diamond in the rough, horse in the backyard, he
could be the champion that you have been looking for. Save him from the
person that really thought they wanted a horse and never realized the time,
commitment and money that it took to keep a horse.
I have educated many of my coworkers to the expense of keeping a horse. They
had no idea what a blanket cost. They were amazed at the fact that it could
cost around $150 depending on the type and weight and rating for weather.
Then we got into the cost of feeding, farriers and vets. They realized that
owning a horse was a HUGE commitment.
If more people realized this, we would not have rescuing so many horse.
Just my opinion
