I live in the SE and since we did not have a very cold winter those blasted 
little ticks did not die (or at least a lot of them).  I keep slathering fly 
replant in my horses ears until I can find something that works really well.  
The fly replant is also supposed to keep the flyies away and help heal the 
already existing open sores from the flies.  One day they had perfectly 
healthy ears the next they were covered--it was a shock to see oh quickly the 
flies worked!
