Here's the real joke--do you know how many millions of dollars are spent in
New York horseracing to test the first place finisher and an occasional
"special"? More than $3 million. Anybody know what the drug testing budget
for endurance horses is nationwide? And, in new York, what percentage of
illegal drugs used in racing is actually caught? Less than 1%. That's because
anybody who is genuinely serious about drugging knows test lab capabilities
down to the nanogram.
So, all the threats and posturing look pretty silly to me.
