RE:martingales & reins
I make all my own running martingales, or "training forks" as some call
them. I also use loop reins. I have done two styles. One, instead of rings,
I use some snaps, that have a nice sized loop that will fit over the reins,
and let them run freely. The other, I put the rings on the reins, and then
use some lighter snaps, that snap on to the rings. Either design, you can
unsnap the rings from the reins. I use a breast collar that has a center
ring that I can snap the whole martingale on and off. I also always use the
rubber stops on the reins, to keep the rings from getting caught on the
reins snaps. Old rubber bell boots can be cut to make nice rubber stops!
Jonni who has always looked for ways to make things easier, and save some
$$$.
