Re: Sun Headaches!
Lived in Central Cal most of my life. Make
sure you're not squinting or tense in the face or shoulders. Concentrate
on relaxing from the beginning. Good Luck!

Hello ridecampers: I need your advice and
help! I've recently moved from Maryland/Virginia, the land of shaded forest
trails, humidity and cold water streams, to southern California, and I'm
having trouble making the transition to all of this bright sunlight. I've
been out three times for rides of 2 to 3 hours in the open hills and have
come back each time with a splitting headache. I really made an effort to
prevent it from happening this time by going out early, wearing prescription
sunglasses (UV/polarized), hat visor, putting on sunscreen and drinking lots
of water/gator aid throughout the day. But alas, the headache crept up and
got me just the same. It's like a migraine -- lingers for the rest of the
day and often into the next. It wasn't all that hot today -- I think it's
the unrelenting sunlight that does me in. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks! Bobbie and April
