The mitochondrial DNA is a part of the ovum but not a part of the nucleus.
Hence it comes completely from the dam. In the case of ET, since the ovum
comes from the donor mare, there is no difference in its heredity than if the
dam carried the foal herself. The only difference you will have with ET is
the environmental aspect of how the recipient mare raises baby.
