Vincent, Angie is right. We are all praying for Bucky, and I hope he
recovers. But even if he doesn't, don't thrash yourself too much. Learn
from what happened, and NO MATTER HOW BAD IT HURTS, if you lose him,
have a post mortem done so that you know what really happened! Have seen all
too many cases like this where there really was some underlying problem that
no one had ANY way of knowing about. I dealt with one case several years ago
(I wasn't the ride vet, just happened to be at the ride and got roped into
helping) of colic at a ride that turned out to be a malignancy in the
abdominal cavity that had abcessed and ruptured. There was a similar case at
the WEC, and another with liver abcesses at ROC one year. Knowing what
really happened doesn't make the loss hurt any less, but at least it is often
helpful to understand.
