Re: "Endurance DRIVING"...the day before
A quick examination of the driving time I spend traveling to endurance rides
during one season reveals the following:
5 rides to which the driving time is 3 hours or less
3 rides to which the driving time is around 4 hours
4 rides to which the driving time is around 6 hours
2 rides to which the driving time is around 8 hours
In order for me to spend 8 hours or more on the road driving to an endurance
ride, the ride has to be a 'special' ride or longer than 50 miles such as a
one day 100 or a multi-day ride. After reading about how long some
ridecampers have to spend driving to endurance rides I feel blessed to live
in such a ride friendly area. Of course one has to put up with 100 degree
temps in the summer and 6 inches of rain in the winter to live in
Bakersfield.
How 'bout a word from cuzin' John and Remington? He likes to take the purdy
route to rides just to see new digs. Them sure are tall trees.
Happy Trails,
