Hey Mary Anne Maynard - Thanks for sending the update on Erick.

We were thrilled to meet Smokey back in the late 80's when he came to ride one of the Championship series rides that we had agreed to manage. Smokey was my idol of endurance riders from reading all the Endurance News and seeing all the mileage that he had accumulated. I was devastated to learn that he had not brought Bandit, but he introduced me to Erick and told me that he was a very promising and up-and-coming mount. They did real good on the trails and were handling the humidity very well. Unfortunately they found the root or rock with their name on it around the 80 mile mark and couldn't finish the ride. But I will always remember meeting Smokey and Erick.
