Re: RC: zebras
This is a good question - I've been seeing a few farms breeding zorses
{zebra-horse cross] and some of them look really neat....had toyed with the
idea myself, but am afraid that the quality of zebra available may inhibit
the quality of the offspring...I know they tend towards being small and are
challenging to train...I'm not sure I want to throw my money away on a
novelty quite yet - but wouldn't it be *neat* to have racing stripes?
The offspring I've seen tend to look mulish {of course} but with
stripes...most were smaller than your average mule though, too. I understand
the zebras themselves average 12 hh or so, which seems to make actually
riding them rather difficult unless one is very small.
I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has any experience with zebras or
the zorse cross. My personal opinion is it will remain a novelty due to the
temperment issues - but who knows - I've been wrong before!
