This is a very beautiful ride with varying trails, held within local parks
- meaning,
the trails are always open to hikers, bikers and horses. Therefore, these
wonderful
ride managers take extra care to insure that trail sabotage is held to a
minimum... a very difficult task indeed. >>
We've had similar trouble on Swanton Pacific 100, as it passes through a big
portion of Big Basin State Park. One year I decided to try a new approach:
I post signs at the major trail access points - "Ribbons and signs reflect
park approved trail markings. Please do not remove or disturb." This seems
to have helped. I really believe that hikers suspect an impending tree
harvest or subdivision, so I thought a little reassuring information was in
order. It works!
