the spotter that sent all the

It's been my experience that signs are more dependable than spotters.
One year we marked a tricky spot all to pieces, and then put "Glen" an
old fellow who liked to mark trails with us up there for a spotter. It
never occured to us to explain to him to point them the way that he'd
marked it.
When a rider sent flying by all the signs and asked him "Which way?" he
replied, "Go back and read the blasted signs, what do you think we put'em
up for?" and refused to tell her. He actually thought he was there to
make sure they behaved themselves I guess.
In general, it's usually the club members who can't be trusted with any
other duties who are dropped off to be spotters...and they seldom know
the trail.
