Feed info needed-feeding oil

I need any information about oil making feed pass faster through the
digestive system, or 'greasing' the system and keeping nutrients from
being absorbed.  

Also how much oil can be safely fed to a horse?  And does it make any
different if it is an older horse (28 years old)?

I can't access the Internet, so can't look it up in the archives.

Any information would be appreciated.  Also any web sites, I am going to
get my computer fixed.  As soon as the technician can figure out what is
wrong with it.
