Lynn,OK, I standd corrected. I must have misunderstood what I'd heard or been
misinformed. Do riders have the option of telling the horsemanship judge they do
not want to be judged at all? This was the case when we were doing horsemanship
awards in our club.

OK, that's what I have the problem with. I want my horse judged on his condition,
period. He'll do almost anything I ask of him (he walked through the building into
our courtyard at the nursing facility where I work; how's that for an obstacle?!),
but to me it's about fitness.But, to each his own. I don't ride under NATRC rules
because I prefer ours, and anyone who doesn't like AHAO rules are free to not ride
because of it too. As someone else said (I forget who), distance riding is the
important thing, not whose rules you prefer!
